You should start by strengthening your core muscles to lose weight in your midsection and build your resistance. You can build your core muscles efficiently by doing some abs, crunches, bridges and ab presses. Once you start to get in shape, you can focus on different muscle groups to lose weight in a certain area. You should try doing as many reps of a single exercise as possible and working out more frequently and for longer periods of time if you want to progress.
